Itachi shook his head at Naruto's enthusiasm. He couldn't recall ever seeing someone so excited about food. Then again, there was so very little he could recall that it wasn't surprising. The Uchiha looked over the food that was laid out for the hungry festival goers, wondering what he should get first. Naruto was eager enough for the cinnamon rolls, it seemed.
A fleeting memory of an eager young boy graced Itachi's mind, coming and going before he could really get a look at it. The boy's smile was the only thing to remain, and Itachi turned pensive, considering the smile, trying to pull the memory back to him. There was a happiness, a joy in the smile, and within the fleeting memory, there was a hope that more would come back, that Itachi would come back to himself. And hope was never something held in ill regard.
