Ahnassi blinked in surprise, a smile slowly starting to spread across her face as the rat's words registered. At first she'd been dismayed to hear him reject the food... But as he explained his reasons, she quickly realized the refusal for what it actually was - an offer of peace in response to her panicked apology. She would never have expected such a kind response and she was almost too overwhelmed to reply. "It is... It would be bad, yes," she agreed. "Ahnassi will take back what you can not eat, if that is your wish. She is sure that it will not be wasted if she and Juro eat what is left. Then all will be well-fed and happy, yes?"

The Khajiit reached for her bag slowly, noting that the rat didn't really flinch this time. She left the food alone for the moment, allowing the rodent time to eat a little more while she picked up the silverware that had spilled out of the bag while she was laying out the food. The rat hadn't bothered with any of that, probably because each utensil was as big as he was. He hadn't touched the second apple or the jar of soup either, so she added those to the bag. She had already decided to give Juro the untouched apple and just finish off the other one herself, once the rat was done with it.

She also noticed that the rat's journal was still lying where it had fallen beside the house, and she moved over to retrieve it for him. "This magic journal belongs to you, Ahnassi believes," she said, carefully winding the cord up and placing the item a short distance away from the rodent. Again she noticed that he didn't move away, and that small measure of trust somehow made her feel very pleased. The Khajiit fell silent for a moment, then finally asked the question that had started to nag at her in the last few minutes, "Excuse Ahnassi for asking, but... May Ahnassi have your name? Ahnassi does not feel right calling you just 'Rat' or 'you there' if you have a name to give."
