Entirely forgetting the reasons she didn't want to fly in the first place, Etna had taken to the sky in a fit of rage.

Laharl was abusing her trust, she had only forgiven him hours ago and he was already returning to his old selfish habits.
Etna hated him for it and even more so, she hated herself for letting him get away with it.

It was all so transparent in retrospect, why hadn't she seen this coming?

"Well, it's already happened so we might as well handle it the traditional way", Etna mused to herself while she coasted north. Her "traditional way" being nothing short of calculated vengeance.

Laharl had said he was at a hospital... but she didn't know where that was exactly or what a hospital in this place even looks like.
Regardless, Etna searched, keeping a sharp lookout for Ronin who might be standing in front of the hospital to collect payment from treatment.

Wait!- Etna saw crowds of blonde citizen-drones fleeing a building, broken glass everywhere and what looked like craters in the ground out front...

Slowly, it began to dawn on Etna that maybe that wasn't an excuse Laharl was making over the journals. Maybe, he actually had gotten himself into trouble that even he couldn't beat his way out of.

Etna felt a sinking feeling in her stomach; she could tell she was probably already too late.

Etna dove in towards the ground, calling out hoping to hear a response, "Prince!"
But, there was no reply. She plummeted further, nearly scraping her knees against the upturned cobblestones in her haste.
"Prince!" She called out once more, looking around for any sort of acknowledgment.

Instead, there was nothing, nothing but silence and rubble, which gave an answer far more explicit than any words could manage.

Laharl was gone, he had fallen here and Etna had failed to be there.
