Kaylee laughed lightly when she heard the stranger's question. "A hand?" She smiled, turning toward him. "Oh yeah. A whole wrist, actually, since it's kind of broken like butterflies."
She took in his appearance then - a cute, if oddly dressed, boy of indeterminable age, although he looked like he was younger than her. She rather liked the sparkle in his eyes, green and innocent like fresh grass in spring.
The thought of spring made her thirsty, and Kaylee suddenly remembered that she hadn't drank anything for the past day. The hurried liftoff, the last can of juice, the destroyed water tanks, the fall, everything. Kaylee sighed a little, but her smile quickly returned as she refocused on the inquisitive visiter. Must be a visiter, for he looked nothing like the rest of the people here.
"But it'll be okay," she said quickly. "I mean, I'm going to that whatever hospital right now. They'll fix it good, yeah?"
