The sudden gleam of a wedding ring did a little to comfort her, since it meant that most likely the man wouldn't try any funny business, but there was still the creepy man who hadn't yet introduced himself (and was leering at her).

"Some English" meaning, of course, that she'd been learning the language since grade school, and she presumed that if he understood Japanese as well as he apparently did, then he must have lived there, but it might help her brush up a little for the test on Tues-
Belatedly, Chizuru recalled that she might not be there for the English test on Tuesday. She decided not to mention that, then, and merely look like she was trying to be helpful, opening the journal and scanning for replies, flushing a bright shade of pink at a girl who apparently didn't mind getting hit on by another girl leaving flattering remarks, scowling at another female replier's apparent mockery of her lesbianism.
"Ichigo-- ah, Kurosaki, he might get upset at a stranger using his given name-- said he and the people he knew were meeting at the Central Station. I be-lieve there's a train station near here... and some of the people on the journal are saying the locals will take anything shiny as payment, literally. I wonder how many people here aren't local?" But she digressed. "Anyway, if we're going to meet them, we might as well take the train..."
