Loz's swing at Cloud startled her - not because she was unaccustomed to violence, or because Cloud hadn't done anything to warrant such a reaction, but because it was such a sudden, vicious attack, whether it missed or not. And because Cloud wasn't likely to put up with that, if he was anything like she remembered him to be, Loz was just asking for trouble.

And when Cloud pulled out the buster sword, she straightened and moved out of the way. She had second thoughts on lending a hand, here - putting magic between a sword and hand-to-hand combat could get finicky.

"Mmh," she nodded, and added, "I'll back you up, when you need it."
