Sephiroth nodded in return to Tseng, not missing the complete dismissal of Kadaj nor the implications of Rufus' late arrival.
"I see; his apologies are accepted. Is there somewhere we can conduct this meeting in private? There are things I wish to know, and as my attention has already been occupied by Kadaj for quite some time on the way here, I feel it only fair to lend my full attention now to you. Kadaj will wait outside, if he wishes to speak to me again without steel between us."
As he looked toward Kadaj, it was quite clear that he meant what he said. If Kadaj interrupted, it would be at his own peril.
He had, over the course of the past half hour, been subjected to quite a bit of information. Admittedly, most of it made no sense to him. Jenova, his mother, not dead? Not only not dead, but something not human? That was... alarming in the extreme. He'd always known he was different, but -alien-?
That did not make sense. But then, neither did Hojo making three insane copies of him, and incomplete ones at that. True, the man was twisted, but something about that rung false.
Sephiroth wanted to hear both sides of this story, and then draw his own conclusions. And if anyone tried to force him...
Well, now that would just be unfortunate. Not that he would kill anyone; he was too professional for that. But there are worse things than death, and a man does not become a general without knowing some of those things...
