The Prince was just continuing his search for food when he heard a strange noise coming from behind him. He froze in place, afraid to turn around. It sounded like laughter, and The Prince so liked laughing! But what if it was a monster coming to lure him into a trap and eat him? No, wait! What if coming into the store in the first place had been a trap? Maybe it wasn’t a store at all, but a giant monster building set on eating the Prince, just like the train had eaten Auron!
He quickly ran to the safety of another aisle. But if the whole building was a monster, then he wouldn’t be safe anywhere. The Prince felt completely helpless. What was he to do now? The monster store wouldn’t just let him leave. He suddenly thought of Dante. In hindsight, it was probably because the laughter really was Dante’s that prompted this recollection, but The Prince didn’t know that yet. Instead he thought of what Dante would do. A strong guy like Dante wouldn’t just stand there and wait to be eaten. No, he would go confront the monster thing! He fought demons, right? That sounded like monsters to The Prince. So, The Prince would fight the monster, just like Dante! He hoped...
His mind made up, The Prince crept to the end of the aisle. Slowly, he peeked his head around the side and into the next aisle. He got a sight of the monster. It was huge, with wings and gaping teeth red with blood and… wait a minute, that was The Prince’s head doing that! It wasn’t a monster at all, but Dante himself. He seemed to be laughing, as far as The Prince could tell. The Prince immediately remembered that he had left Dante behind. Oh no! He was going to be in so much trouble!
With a look of utter defeat, The Prince walked into the aisle where Dante was. "The Prince is sorry! He didn’t mean to leave. He forgot, really! He was hungry and he saw ‘flavored’ and went to go find food but he couldn’t find it and...!" He took a breath after saying that, but felt too tired to continue. He wasn’t quite sure what he was talking about anyway. Maybe Dante would nice since he was laughing? Or he was laughing because The Prince was going to be in so much trouble now. The Prince gulped and waited, fiddling with the pillow on his head. It was itchy now.
