Karst tucked the device away in the travel bag she had been provided by the blonde boy, along with the food items she'd picked up earlier and the money.

"To do that," she said simply, "we'd first have to find a more secure place to stay... just gimme a few minutes, I recover pretty quick from Psynergy drain..."

Which was something of a lie, but they didn't need to know that. If all else failed, the two alchemists could apparently make a scythe for her, and while it wouldn't be the one she was used to, it would most likely be sharp where it counted.

"Are you okay, Marona?" Karst doesn't want to sound too caring toward the littler girl, lest she be adopted into someone else's family when she couldn't take care of her own.

"We'll find your Ash for you, okay? I know how it feels to be looking for someone..." and to hear from another that you can never find them, never see them, never talk to them ever again... but she didn't add that. Marona was upset enough already. "In the meantime, though, we have to find a place to stay. I haven't seen any way to go home yet, have you? One thing at a time, okay? Once we can be sure of our own lives, we can go find others... and from the sound of things, life is one of those things we don't have to worry about with Ash, hm?"

Now it was Karst's turn to be comforting. One thing at a time, she told herself, just like she was telling Marona. One thing at a time.
