"I'm afraid I don't have much of anything," Karst sighed. "I guess it happens when one is... turned into something else and then defeated in combat. Do your people have the saying 'to the victor go the spoils'?"

She didn't even bother to ask about the devices. Someone would simply have to explain them to her later. Right now, the white creatures and need for a scythe were first and foremost on her mind.

And the lack of money with which to purchase the necessary supplies. Karst toyed with the edge of her cape, trying to figure out how to deal with that-- she'd never quite been completely without resources before. And never had the problem glared her in the face quite the way it did when she turned to see what Marona was giggling over--

--and saw the goods in the shop windows, goods that could only be from an all-in-one store.

She hissed slightly at the irony and glanced around, now desparate to find something to pay with that could be acceptable. Goods could usually be traded in such a circumstance, but was there anything around that could be worth trading? Anything shiny or potentially valuable or-

"The blanket. Could we sell that?" Yes, it was the only thing presently keeping Marona warm. But it was made from gold, silver, and crystal that had previously been going to waste pretending to be foliage, and as gold, silver, and crystal, it had to be valuable, more than valuable enough to buy plenty of clothing for Marona to keep warm in, and food and weapons besides!

Also, the white creatures were being a bit less discreet now, almost mocking in the way they'd move at the corner of one's eye and then wriggle, zip! were gone whenever one tried to look directly at them. Karst was just about getting desparate for a scythe, her mind was tense with all the Psynergy she kept readying to unleash as soon as there was an attack, and she knew that fighting was more than likely inevitable as soon as they left the store...
