"Cold?" Al chirps, perking up again. "No, I'm fine. The cold doesn't bother me." His smile can be heard in his voice despite the blank look of his armored face. He has decided that he likes Karst, her conversation a welcome difference from talk of war and death and lies.

He walks with a steady, clanking rhythm, taking in his surroundings with as much childlike wonder cold metal can express. Everything looks normal enough, but he stops for a stunned moment to look at the beautiful, shimmering crystalline plants. "Woah.."

The workmanship is simply stunning, and he wonders if it was handmade or created with some form of alchemy. He looks down at Karst and scrunches his shoulders, an almost sheepish gesture. "Sorry, I've never seen anything like this before. Home is... a lot different."

He speaks a bit of his home in Risenbool. It is a place of mostly farmland, rolling hills and open fields of grass with a smattering of houses here and there. He can understand her need for such talk. It's been a long time since he's had the time to even sit and think about home, let alone speak of it. His voice carries the hint of regret and a quiet longing for things to be normal again.

"So..uh, Karst," He starts, shifting conversation as he starts to miss home a little too much. "Is it true that you fought a three-headed chimera? I've never seen one that complex before."
