For the time being, Kadaj was shoved to the back of Rufus’ mind after sending one last reply to the man. Closing it device and sliding it back into his pocket, his attention moved to the train. Gone were the good days when he would have had the entire thing to himself. For a thankfully short moment, he considered refusing to go on such a contraption. Security had not swept it for attackers, bombs, or any other dangers; it was most likely filthy inside; and… he was a Shinra, damn it.

Taking a deep breath, Rufus resigned himself to fate. This was not shaping up to be one of his better days. First he’d ended up here, then he’d gotten smacked in the face with a door, and now he was going to be forced to use public transportation. It was all well and good for Reno, Tseng, and Rafe to ride one of these trains to get to him but the other way around? No. However, it looked as if he weren’t going to be given a choice.

At the talk of money, Rufus drew his chocobo hide billfold from his inner pocket. Drawing out seven credit cards, he tapped Lorie on the shoulder to let her take them. All were of the same dull brick or black shade, the Shin-Ra company logos on the cornres.

“Use these. I forget which two of them have no limits.”
