Furiously, Kadaj sent the creatures after her, making them jump as high as they could to try and snap at her... to no avail. Ai was too high up for them to reach, Glaring balefully at her, he dispersed the Creepers into smoke with an abrupt wave of his hand, his eyes remaining fixed on her as she flew away. He couldn't even bring himself to respond to her parting words-- he was simply too angry.

The feeling didn't fade as she disappeared from view, and it was all he could do not to scream in frustration. He'd had her! She was right there! His Shadow Creepers should have had no problem with her! How could they have failed him like this?! It wasn't possible!

His hands curled into fists, and with one last venomous look at the place they had arranged to meet, the trees she had chosen to sing by, and the direction he had seen Dream and the Corinthian wander off too, he stalked off towards who knew what. This Paixao-- it was nothing but trouble. Mother wasn't here, strange females with wings saying they loved him, and he still hadn't found Loz or his big brother. He hated it here.

He needed to vent. Badly. He didn't care how much it delayed him; the next time he spotted those strange white things, he was going to kill them. All of them. As soon as possible.

Marginally more calm now, he set off to do exactly that. The next time he saw Ai, he promised himself, she would not escape again.
