The sunglasses were back on. Good. Now he could pretend he hadn't just seen-- that. It was a lot easier to pretend not to be scared now, and within a few moments, the emotion would gone entirely. Unfortunately, that gave him even more opportunity to be disgusted with himself for letting himself get scared in the first place, but that was better than earlier at least. It was the Corinthian's fault anyway, not his. How was he supposed to know he had wanted the eyes for that?

The appearance of the pocket knife didn't disturb him in the least, mostly because of just how mundane it was. Kadaj was perfectly confident he'd be able to counter that, and, once more in complete control of himself, he said, "Why would I lie? I only stand to gain from telling you about my dear older brother. Lying would only complicate things for both of us." He hated when things got complicated. "Thank you, by the way. I'll remember your name as well."
