Belle didn’t take the seat right next to him, incase he had wanted to stretch out. She could always move over if someone wanted to sit there. In any case if the ride didn’t agree with her, she didn’t want to be too close to anyone. She looked around and out of the windows, interested in all of the people that she saw.
She looked over at Subaru and his journal. She figured she could watch him and maybe learn how to play with it. “How did you get here?” She remembered he had asked her, and was curious to see if the situation were similar. She hoped the question didn’t bother him, but he didn’t have to answer if he didn’t want to. And he had said they could talk on the train. She didn’t know him very well though so he might have said that to simply stall the conversation at that point. Maybe he had no intention of talking to her. He did seem interested in his journal.
She opened hers to get a closer look. She had never seen such a thing, but there were a lot of buttons calling her name. She glanced at her companion to see if he was going to answer her or not. She didn’t want to seem rude, by asking a question and then not looking interested in the answer. She was interested. But there were so many things going on at once, she didn’t want to miss any of it. She wanted to be able to give every detail of the place to her friends at home. If she ever saw them again. Of course she would see them again, she thought. It was only a matter of time. She hadn't been gone long enough to think negatively, and so pushed those thoughts away. She focused instead on her environment.
