So that’s what that was She looks at her own journal and opens it. She glances at his again. It contained a map. She wondered what else it did, but decided to save playing with it for the train ride. Maybe then she can pick a place to go. She didn’t know what to do now that she was here. She had intended on simply exploring and hopefully finding someone she knew. But he said there were dangerous people. Belle may have wanted adventure but she didn’t want to meet people who would hurt her.
She could look for Beast. Beast. Sometimes it didn’t seem appropriate to call him that, even as a nickname. She knew his name was Adam, but she couldn’t quite get used to calling him that. She figured she would eventually get used to it, but for now he remained Beast...But it seemed unlikely that she would find him anyway. She certainly couldn’t meet him if she didn’t know where he was. But she also didn’t want to abuse Subaru’s niceness. She couldn’t just follow him like a puppy all the time.
She decided it would be best to go with him to the center of town. He was right. There would have to be plenty of restaurants and places to stay. “I just got here really. I don’t think anyone from home would be here. So...I don’t know where to go. But the center of town seems like just as good a place to start as any.”
Maybe by the time they got to the center of town someone would have come looking for her. And they would have found this strange place. It was a hope anyway. And there had to be more people that were lost. She could make good friends. One of them might even know how to get back.
