He was in the middle of lighting up a cigarette when Gojyo and Hakkai arrived. The first thing he heard was the kappa's bitching.
Dammit.
Sanzo hadn't exactly been looking forward to this reunion. The monk didn't mind meeting Hakkai. The healer was quiet, mostly unintrusive, respected his personal space, intelligent, and not a dipshit.
Gojyo wasn't any of those things.
The monk put the cigarette to his lips with one hand, and the journal away with the other. If he had time, he'd probably have to get it fixed. Or replaced. He took a drag as the Hakkai drew close. The other man was followed by a very irritated looking roach.
Sanzo didn't stand up yet. His feet still hurt, and any time off them - no matter how small - was very much needed. Standing up would also mean that he would be standing at attention for them. Which he certainly wasn't about to do. He'd already had to wait for them.
The only welcome he gave the two was a small nod. Violet eyes flicked almost expectantly towards their side.
"Where's Goku?" he asked. There was the faintest hint of worry in his voice that he couldn't quite cover.
