He studied the design inscribed and carved upon the gate before him, blandly fascinated by the familiarity of the symbology. Glancing idly over his shoulder he blinked once, twice -- three times, as if trying to understand why a line of people had taken it upon themselves to stand where they were at that very moment, as if waiting for some sort of person to admit them to the area beyond the gate itself.

After giving it some thought, he himself walked over to take his place at the line, though the expression on his face was hardly mirrored by any of those that surrounded him.

When his turn finally came, his hands remained in his pockets. A man asked his name while holding out a piece of something that appeared to be metal carved to look like what humans would call a miniature of a laptop. He'd seen similar trinkets before. But that thought was not for this particular moment.

Though not really surprised by the demand for his identity, he had to admit that he was a little unsettled by the way that man seemed to say it out of habit rather than protocol. Giving in though, he opened his mouth to say the following words: "I am the King of Dreams and Storytelling, he who rules over the reamls of sleep and--"

Only to have the man cut him off, and to find himself pushed inside and through the threshold of the gates (albeit a little more impatiently than what Morpheus himself was accustomed to).

Why, even Lucifer Morningstar would not dare treat him in such an undignified manner. Then again. People were people and he of all that knew perhaps no better than the rest.

Looking down at his hand he eyed the electronic trinket idly before slipping it away into the pocket of his jacket, and with a half-hearted gait, he walked down the street and into this new and curious-looking city.
