Once again, he'd slipped into a stage where he paid little attention to anything that wasn't his business; the newcomer had nearly gone completely unnoticed, and would have been ignored if not for her addressing the two of them.
...Wait, had she called him a woman?
He ceased the pressing of buttons on his journal device and forced his gaze upward, though the blank stare he initially shot in her direction soon evolved into something resembling shock. Her hair... It reminded him so much of Kadaj. How odd. What was this... feeling nagging at him? He felt such a strong need to be near his brother now that he thought of him again, a need that wasn't related to Mother or Reunion, a need that had nothing to do with obligation. He wanted to be near him.
What was this...? He had never felt it before.
Eventually, he pulled himself from his daze and lowered his gaze to the woman's chest, then looked down at his own. "Hah." He tilted his head to the side as his gaze then rose to her face, a half-smirk tugging at a corner of his lips.
"You will find that Olette is very helpful," he commented as the younger girl finished. "She is quite smart and can even tell the differences between genders. I have no idea where she came across such knowledge." While it may have seemed like he was blatantly insulting the so-far nameless woman, the tone in his voice suggested humour and was laced with a quiet giggle.
"I know only what she's told me, which is the same information she just told you." A casual shrug rolled off his shoulders and he resumed pressing random buttons, then eventually closed the thing and looked around for a place to store it. This, of course, resulted in him circling in place a small number of times before he gave up and simply held it. "Where are you supposed to put these?"
