Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Indeed (Complete)
Character(s): Daisuke
Content: Daisuke is dazed and confused as he enters Paixao for the first time
Setting: Nifleheim Gate (G-10)
Time: Monday (close to noon)
Warnings: None that come to mind
...Sora....Dark.... The spidery voices of shadows whispered from behind the light.
Bright light faded and the darkness from behind closed eyelids set in. He felt the world returning to him slowly. He felt his face groing numb from the hard surface beneath him. A small groan escaped and Daisuke Niwa opened his deep crimson eyes and blinked the stars away to find he was laying outside of a gate. A very tall gate. A very tall silver gate wrapped in ice. A very tall silver gate wrapped in ice with a very long line of annoyed people standing behind him with some of the more vocal ones calling out obscenties.
But this was all just starting to register with Daisuke. His head still ached from...what exactly? He pondered this while still sitting on the ground. With face scrunched in recollection he failed to notice the black feathers strewn around him. He remembered the museum and then the charm bracelet on display with the Wiz keychain. Wiz! The little furball was still waiting outside. Or maybe he'd gone back to Mom and Grandpa to tell them what happened, though Wiz's vocabulary was still very much limited. But what happened after he saw the bracelet?
"Hey! Are you gonna get up?! You're holding everyone up!"
Daisuke looked up, auburn hair shining a more fierce red in the sunlight and saw the young man in the booth staring back down at him curiously. He had blue eyes and wore a cap that rested atop his blond hair and sat hands folded with a stack of brochures to his right. Daisuke stood up and dusted himself off and faced the booth once again to find a brochure thrusted onto his face that read "PAIXAO".
"Pie-zao?" he repeated unsure of the pronunciation.
"Yes." He replied flatly. "That's where you are, kid. Welcome to the city. Oh! You'll be needing this."
A small frown tugged the corner of the young thief's mouth at being referred to as a "kid." He was fifteen. Gone were the stages of childhood to him. Now there was the complicated mess called "puberty". He watched as the man in the booth reached under his desk and pulled out something silver that looked almost like a laptop or a notebook or something in between. He handed it to Daisuke who turned it over and over in his hands as he walked through the gate.
He noticed the braclet was on his wrist then, but he never remembered putting it on. As he entered Paixao a small shivered rippled up his spine. Somehow this was going to be quite an experience.
