Despite the glove separating them, Raiden was surprised to find he could feel the warmth of the creature's tongue through it. He managed to keep his hand out rather than drawing it back, still startled at the forked tongue - no mammal should have anything like that. At least it wasn't attacking him, so that was a point there. It seemed to be remarkably tame, as if it was comfortable around humans or hadn't been around them at all. Puzzling over this, Raiden kept his eyes on the thing.
"Don't suppose you can tell me just what the hell you are," he said out-loud, feeling a little foolish for talking to an animal. Somehow it felt like the right thing to do. There was definitely an intelligent look in the creature's eyes.
