Did the woman really say those words? The two had only just met and already 'Marianne' was letting Raven spend the night in her place. All this just because of an overly hyperactive boy and a ball that barely missed her. Maybe Raven should've left the ball hit instead.
Tea, hot chocolate, warm blankets, a soft bed, peace and quiet... It almost seemed to good to be true, but Raven didn't sense any danger of ulterior motive to Marianne's sudden generosity. Things were starting to look up. Finally, she'd be out of this annoying weather in only a couple of minutes.
"You can just call me Raven. Thanks for letting me stay in your home."
Not wanting to waste any more time, she followed Marriane to her house. Raven would have to find a way to repay this woman for her hospitality, but that could wait until she wasn't shivering and had those blankets around her.
Maybe Marianne would like a pin to pop David's ball for whenever he got too annoying with it.
