An Exploration gone Wrong (Completed)
Character(s): Ziva and some Lumen Wolves
Content: Ziva tries to get to the door to the floor above, and ends up meeting some strange glowing creatures outside.
Setting: Niflheim gate / Right outside the gate.
Time: Midnight
Warnings: Shannon can't write action scenes; Ziva and knives; Lumen attack.
Ziva had scrolled through some of the posts on her journal while sitting on a bench near Niflheim gate, watching people come and go through the gates. It seemed that only the strange blond haired citizens had free power to come and go as they pleased. From what she was reading, people who were from the ‘outside’ were only allowed in…not out.
She wanted out.
So, she had been camping out in front of the gate watching the guards as they worked, trying to find the schedule of the changing of the guard. It had taken a few days, but she figured out the best time to slip through the gates as unnoticed as possible. They had a shift change around the midnight hour, and there was about 5 minutes where they did a briefing of activity, letting their guard down enough for someone to slip by unnoticed. Especially someone in a dark cloak that may or may not have been bartered from gypsies.
Ziva slipped the hood of her cloak over her head, watching as the two groups of soldiers chatted near the side of the gate, and she quickly, yet quietly, moved past the people and then through the gate. Getting a bit away from the domes, she stopped and turned back, taking the hood off and looking back at her prison. Seemed peaceful enough from this vantage point.
Still walking away from the domes, she headed out into the fields towards the church with the door to the next world in it. It was the first time she had been outside the domes since she had arrived, and it was an interesting feeling. She stopped though, when she saw something glowing ahead of her.
It was a wolf…well, something that resembled a wolf. It was glowing an eerie yellow color, with piercing blue eyes, and it was staring at her. Hearing a sound to her right, she pulled a knife from where she hid one at her back, and stood in a defensive stance. There was more than one, and then she realized she was surrounded by the pack of them.
This is very bad.
The one in front of her howled, as though calling the others to attack. Only three others began to come towards her, leaving her with four targets. Her brain went through the scenarios of surviving this, and she decided that taking out the leader would be her best bet. She lunged at it right as it ran at her, her knife cutting across its shoulder as it sank its teeth into her opposite arm.
A shout of pain as she wrenched her arm from its mouth and sliced across the neck with another knife she had pulled from a boot before going after it. A gurgling sound from the creature before it fell, the blood from the cut falling across her injured arm. She registered the pain, but turned quickly to face the others, who seemed to be staying away for now.
“Would you like to fall like your brother?” She growled, ignoring the pain in her arm. “Come!” Foolish, maybe, but Ziva didn’t care. Two attacked at the same time, the first managing to knock her to the ground and get a taste of her leg, before the other tried going after her right arm, only to meet her knife. It fell, covering her cloak with more of that strange blue blood. The second let go of her leg and went back to it companions. They stared at her for a moment longer before wandering off, leaving her with the disappearing bodies of their former leaders.
She then realized what sort of state she was in. Two open wounds from the bites, and covered with a blood like liquid that was glowing the same blue color as the creatures’ eyes… Not to mention the light headed feeling she had just started having. She should call for help, but something in her just made her want to stare at the stars in the sky.
Someone would find her eventually…right?
