His Majesty Has Arrived [Active]
Character(s): King Mickey and Anyone Else who approaches
Content: There’s a new keyblade wielder in Paixao, and it’s none other than the guy they call… Mickey Mouse!
Setting: Muspelheim gates
Time: Evening
Warnings: Probably not much
Stumbling forward, Mickey caught his breath before he looked around him in this new world. His eyes widen to all that was around him, immediately looking to his left and right. Donald? Goofy? Kairi…? Where did they-? Where did everyone go? Sora and Riku are-!
Mickey eyes widen, oh my gosh, did the dark portal send him elsewhere? How could it… Mickey looked down in thought, someone was up to this, if Xemnas is still alive then… Breathing in, the King stood tall, there’s only one thing to do. Find a way back or see if his friends were sent here as well. Mickey walked forward toward the line of people which led to a gate with golden flames. As he approached the booth at the end of the line, he reached up on his toes as he placed his gloved hand and looked up, “Excuse me?”
The blonde girl behind the desk blinked when she looked up expecting to see someone in front of her, but she didn’t see anyone. After Mickey cleared his throat again, she looked down, lifting her eyebrow. Mickey smiled up at her, “Ha ha, hi, uh. I was wondering if you guys have a map or could tell me where I am?”
A little bit surprised to see a large mouse talking, the blonde then shook her head dismissing such surprises, considering the other she’s seen here. Clearing her throat she asked, “What’s your name?”
“The name’s Mickey, Mickey Mouse. What’s yours?” he asked, still giving a friendly smile.
The girl looked to the side, as she appeared to be writing something down, then picking up what looked like an electronic notebook, and giving it to Mickey. “This is your journal, here’s the brochure about this place. You can find information about the place here in this package and a map is on the journal. Welcome to Paixao, Mr. Mouse, you may go now,” the girl said, almost in monotone.
Mickey rubbed the back of his ear, so this place was called Paixao, huh? As he observed the journal, he looked back up the girl curiously, “Gosh… Thanks but-Isn’t there anything else about this place you could tell me? Like how I got here, did you see a dark portal or-?”
Waving her hand dismissing the mouse the girl spoke, “That is all, you are dismissed.”
“Yea but… I didn’t even get your name?” Mickey asked. Girl paused for a moment to look at the mouse but then breathed a sigh almost in annoyance, waving her hand away at him. Mickey frowned, well, guess he’ll just have figure out things for himself from here. He gave a sigh and walked through the gates. Stopping just a short distance away from the gate. Boy, which way should he even go first?

Teito's Zaiphon had undoubtedly gotten rusty during the time he's been stuck here. It was difficult to stay in practice when there hadn't been anyone to practice with. The best he could do was just mess with strands every once and awhile and at least stay as sharp on that.

Waving up to the kid Mickey gave him a friendly smile, “Hi there, I uh, wouldn’t like to bother you. But I was wondering if you know anything about this place?”
no subject
"..?" the letters disappeared when he heard a voice. Could it be another one of those citizens upset at him again? No, that didn't sound like it this time. He looked over the edge of the roof to see who it was.
Sure enough, this was something else.
"Just a little bit, yeah," Teito finally spoke up.
no subject
...At which point, he did a double-take. He knew those ears anywhere.
"Mickey?" he mouthed. Riku stepped through the crowd, seeing his friend talking to a boy he hadn't seen before.
It was him. The king who saved him from the darkness more than once. The mouse who sacrificed himself to stay in the Realm of Darkness. The friend who stayed with him on his long road towards dawn. Riku smiled down at the little guy and bent down. "Mickey... Is that really you?" A smile of relief gently crossed his face.

At the sound of a very familiar voice, Mickey’s eyes widen. As he turned around to see one of the friends he’s been hoping to find, and one of the closest pals he cares about, “Riku!” he cried out with a smile.
Immediately King Mickey came over in a practical jump to hug Riku, he grinned up at him, “Oh boy! I was so hopin’ to see ya, I was real worried that I wouldn’t! You, Sora and everyone else!”
Then Mickey paused as he looked over to the boy, “Oh ha ha sorry, ah, this is one of my best pals Riku,” and he looked back up to Riku, “How’d ya get here, I mean, whattya remember?”
no subject
"You two know each other?" Teito had managed to get down to ground level now, somehow without making a single noise.
"I guess you really don't need my help after all then."
no subject
"Sora opened the door to light after we finished Xemnas. And we ended up here. But that was a while ago. It's like Castle Oblivion is pulling people from different places and times. What do you remember last?"
He turned to the mage. "I wouldn't be too sure of that." The youth at least didn't look like he'd be bad news. Besides, here in Castle Oblivion, almost everyone was trapped at the same level with the same goal. Marluxia was unsettling proof of this. "I'm not sure how long you've been here, but you probably know things're bad. There are some major changes up ahead." Riku stood, holding a hand out to the other. "We're outsiders. It's time we find a way back outside."
no subject
While talking to Riku, Mickey turned around to the other boy, and gave a nod, “Yea, you can hang around with us. I know I wouldn’t mind, it’s always good to make new friends you know,” he said giving an encouraging smile to the young man, “After all, you might not know what you may learn from others when you do make friends, I know learned many things thanks to my friend Riku here.”
no subject
"... Thanks." Making friends, that's been what so many have been saying to do around here. It was kind of amazing, Teito was not used to this much kindness. It's a very nice change, now if only something could be done about all the constant dangers.
"If neither of you mind it then, I would like to stay for awhile longer."
no subject
Riku gave a shrug with a small smile to the other boy. "We need all the help we can get."
However, the smile faded as Riku addressed both the youth and the royal mouse. "There's one big catch to getting outside, though. We've got more than whole cans of darkness to deal with. While we've been in here, something's been wreaking havoc on the worlds. We've basically figured out there's nothing outside this castle but darkness. No worlds. Nothing.
no subject
“Gosh, sounds like things around here just got more complicated. The worlds come from anyone’s memories around here? I wonder why they would do that instead,” Mickey pondered, what is the Organization up to this time? Drawing his attention back to Riku when he mentioned the other worlds are in darkness. His eyes widen when Riku mentioned that, and then were met with anger. How could this have happened?
“What?!” King Mickey gripped his fists, “Nothing? How could this-…” Glaring to the side, a tinged in his heart feeling guilt, how could he let this happen? “Everybody’s worlds are in darkness?”
no subject
Darkness, light, they were fairly common concepts. However, why did something about them sort of... remind him a little of something. It probably was nothing though.
"They're.. using our memories to make worlds?" Teito was making sure he heard that part right.
"Why would-.. What happens if someone has no memory?"
no subject
And then came the king's reaction to the news. "...It looks like it," Riku half-muttered. "There's no way to tell what we're going to face when we get out of here. Just that we have to."
He turned to the other's inquiry. "To form the floors, yeah." Narrowing his eyes in mild suspicion and concern, Riku continued, "Probably nothing. The floors are white tiled floors and walls when they don't take a form." That concept worried Riku less than the implications of that question. "...Someone you know missing memories?" Like maybe you?
no subject
One thing was certain, they had to try and get those worlds back from the depths of darkness. If there’s anything Mickey knew from over the years, is that there is always a door to the light. He for one won’t give up hope. Mickey gave a determined nod, “Then we’ll just have to find a way to help get the worlds back together! One way or another there’s got to be a way. As long as we’re all together, we can fight the darkness and be ready for whatever lies ahead!”
The King turned his attention to the other boy, now curious as well. Did he not have his memories, or is he worried he might loose them? Mickey wasn’t quite certain, but he did want to know if the kid might be in trouble. He looked up at him with a bit of concern.
no subject
"... I was informed awhile back that I was in some kind of accident. --From my world," he added in that last part since it probably did need some clarifying. "I forgot everything that happened two months before it, although there's still a chance it'll come back eventually."
Teito only felt... half satisfied with that excuse. It explained a little, but certainly not enough. After all, why would he be concerned about a floor not forming if he was only missing several weeks of memory? "... H-however.."
"It hasn't really bothered me that much. I already did have trouble remembering things.." That unbothered thing was a horrible lie.
no subject
A small smile was Riku’s initial reply. Leave it to the King to be optimistic in the face of something like this. “Even if that means we go back to the Realm of Darkness. But right now we’ve got to get out there first.”
“You forgot everything that happened two months before it? So you can’t even remember your childhood?” His suspicion was confirmed, but his concern wasn’t quelled. He also doubted the youth was unbothered, considering how disconcerting it was when he realized he’d forgotten Xion. However, Riku knew everyone reacted differently to things.
“Someone once taught me memories are never lost, just forgotten.” Riku placed a hand over his chest as he continued. “Forgotten memories are ones that fall into the darkness of your heart. But your memories are linked, like a chain. Sometimes calling upon one link will lift another out of the darkness.”
no subject
Giving a determined nod, Mickey knew he could count on Riku to stand by his side. Also agreeing with him they had to find a way out.
King Mickey gave a frown toward Teito, oh dear. The poor boy has lost his memories? Either way it couldn’t be his fault that it happened. Looking back at Riku he gave a soft smile, he was absolutely right about that. He gave a nod and looked back a Teito, “Yea, although your memories might not be there, your heart still is. And that’s what makes you, you. So it’s all right, you don’t have to worry about getting them back right away, you can always take your time to pick up the pieces one by one if you need to. There is always a bit of light even in the deepest of darkness.”
no subject
Teito smiled somewhat solemnly to either reply. "I somehow got this far without them. As long as only I think about the things I do have and not what I'm missing I can get through anything." After all it was because of all those hardships that he was appointed into the highest ranking imperial squad (or so he thought). That had to say for something, right? "They could come back someday, but if they never do, I'm always making new ones right now."
no subject
Riku smiled. “Good way to think of it.” However, as he continued, his smile faded slightly. In a way it reminded him of Xion. While many of her memories were not her own, what made her herself was the memories she made on her own. “...If you ever get to know my best friend, Sora, I’ll have to introduce you to Namine. Who knows? She might be able to help you recover those memories.”
He paused. “By the way. I don’t think I got your name. I’m Riku.”
no subject
“That’s right!” Mickey said, giving an encouraging smile to the boy. He certainly wouldn’t mind helping him make some new good memories too. Mickey gave a nod, “Meeting new friends are definitely one way of making a good memory!”
Rubbing the back of his neck, “Gosh that’s right, I think I already introduced myself, right? Didja ever give me yours?”
no subject
"Oh right, sorry about that," Teito forgot, he was about to introduce himself before the other boy showed up. He never went back to it after that.
"My name is Teito."
no subject
Riku gave a nod and a smile to the king. Well put.
"Teito." Riku smirked, but in a friendly manner. "Welcome to the club." There was some sarcasm in the statement, as the stuck-in-a-castle club wasn't exactly the one he'd have in mind, but there was a sense of fellowship to it. Riku clapped his hand on the boy's shoulder as he began to move past, motioning with his head for Mickey and Teito to follow. "Standing around a gate talking is a good way to attract attention. I don't live far from here."
no subject
Giving a big smile Mickey held up his hand to shake in introduction, “Pleasure to meet ya Teito!”
Mickey turned his attention back up to Riku, oh dear. He did have a good point. They should probably try and move from this spot. He gave a nod in agreement. “Good idea! We can all go hang out there for a little bit.”
no subject
"... I might have an idea. But you're right, it's probably better to go somewhere else to talk about it."
As far as the handshake, he first stared at it for a second out of a bit of confusion, but then offered it back.
no subject
Riku nodded. Whatever idea it was could wait a few minutes at least. He led the way along the paths and through the crowds, looking back from time to time to make sure his shorter companions - one much shorter - were still with him. In comparison to the city, it wasn't far at all. They were there in under 20 minutes, arriving at the Palazzo Townhomes. He lived on the end, meaning he didn't have to deal with neighbors on one side. The group of townhomes was ivory and slate in color and quite ornate. Riku opened the door with, of all things, an ordinary house key.
That being said, once they were all inside and he'd turned on the lights, he used a very different key. After bolting the door, he stood back and summoned Way to the Dawn in a flash of blue sparks. He stood back and took the Keyblade in both hands and aimed it at the door lock. From it shot a beam of light, and a second click was heard. That lock couldn't be picked by a master thief. "Just to be safe," Riku replied, dismissing his Keyblade and going to shut the curtains.
The interior living space would have been a little nicer had a teenage boy not lived there. Tables were cluttered with a wide assortment of items, ranging from the toy bicycle that doubled as a wicked ride for Woody in Halloween Town to empty potion bottles. A slain backpack was on the floor, spilling its contents across the carpet. One strap was broken. A pair of jeans straddled the back of a chair. Wadded up in one corner was a small pile of what looked like very fancy clothes. There were dirty dishes in the sink, though the trash at least looked empty. That being said, the house didn't smell, and though a little dusty, one wouldn't need to worry about walking barefoot into the room.
"I wasn't expecting anyone over. If it's in the way, just kick it."
no subject
Looking around, King Mickey blinked a bit and gave a slight smirk. Well, Riku was a normal teenage boy. This didn’t really bother him at all really. Now if Minnie were here, she’d certainly would get fussy about the mess and wag a finger. However Mickey just gave a little chuckle, really all that’s missing here was a half empty pizza box, “Nah, no worries here. I can manage it.”
Really Mickey mainly was just focused on if anyone was gonna be listening in on them, double checking from the windows, to glancing at any other rooms nearby. When Mickey thought the coast seemed clear, he gave a nod to Teito, “Alright, looks like we’re a-ok now. Now what kinda idea ya think ya got Teito?”
no subject
"Probably nothing that would be that useful," after giving it more thought, the idea did seem pretty stupid, at least by his perspective. The knowledge behind it was so elementary. "But if we are looking for a new way communicating so they won't find out, maybe we could try this."
Teito took a few steps back
without trying to bump or trip on anythingand put both hands out in front of him like he was holding something. Then a moment later a circle of words floated above them, the same kind he had been practicing with earlier. "It's called Zaiphon. Not everybody is capable of creating it, but where I come from we use these symbols to read and write with."As another demonstration he turned the circle into one horizontal strand and added more blue runes to it, most likely forming a short sentence with it, before he dismissed the whole thing and it disappeared in speckles of light.
"I found out pretty quick that everybody else used something different. Took quite a bit of time trying to understand that instead. But if either of you think something like this might work, I could try teaching what it all means."
I'm so sorry!
"That's actually a pretty good idea. Are the symbols letters, syllables or words? If they correspond to our letters someone might be able to crack them, which means we might want to write with code words or write our lines backwards. Something."
He folded his arms. "Either way. It could mean we could now send letters in the mail, or even take snapshots of the text and post it publicly, if we think we could get away with it. And yeah, it probably would be best if you taught it. We don't want too many translator pages around in case the Organization finds one."
